Welcome to our newsletter page which is a little insight into the activities of the nursery. As I write the clouds are grey and days short but we look forward to the Spring with usual optimism.
Nursery Update.
We have just finished a good clear up ready for Spring potting. Whilst we have "thrown" a fair amount away very little has found its way into the skip as much has been recyled. We have instituted a comprehensive recyle regime which has cut our dependence on landfill to a very small amount. Our baler which we use for all sorts of materials has been very useful this year and makes it much more economic for recyle firms to come and collect. Rabbits have become a bit of a problem!! from having none a couple of years ago we seem to be over run, we are having to spend a lot more time making the growing areas rabbit proof. The emphasis this year is to reduce water usage which has become very expensive. We have installed water timers on the taps so that they can only be left on for a short time before they turn themselves off. All the nursery is watered by drippers or by sprinklers and if they are not turned off at the right time we can waste a lot of water.

Basket Ordering Online

For the first time you can order your hanging baskets on line on another page of this website. We will deliver but only very locally preferring you to come and collect. Please see the hanging basket page.
Voucher Scheme
A great succes last year and proving to be very popular in Poppies our tearooms. We will be continuing with the scheme this year. Customers receive a voucher to redeem on the nursery or in Poppies after a certain amount is spent.
Nursery Tour
We will be having a free tour of the nursery and a demonstration to show how to make a hanging basket on Thursday 10th May at 7.00pm. Please email to or phone 01794 368895 to book a place. Stout shoes needed.
